JenaValve™ Technology is a medical device company specialized in developing minimally-invasive heart valve replacement systems. Our products offer not only a true, safe alternative to conventional surgery but also to existing commercialized transcatheter devices. We have learned much from the community’s implant experience, in particular the challenges of prosthesis placement and the long learning curves involved for physicians. Therefore, we will provide second generation systems with improved technology, especially for correct positioning, repositioning and ease-of-handling.
Since our founding in September 2006, we’ve made considerable progress. All design work, pre-clinical trials and tests have been completed on the transapical aortic valve replacement system. Parallel development for the transfemoral system is continuing on schedule. We’ve brought together a top-notch team and are well prepared for the CE study and further development tasks.
JenaValve’s success to date has shown that it was the right decision to concentrate on developing two systems simultaneously - for transapical and transfemoral approaches. We know that the market is demanding both so that physicians have a choice to match patient profiles. The unique features of our prosthesis, the JenaClip™, and delivery systems have maintained their promise and have led to many advantages. Both application techniques will meet the expectations of cardiac surgeons and cardiologists, each fulfilling specific patient needs.
Very early we recognized not only the potential safety of the system for patients but also the significance of its ease-of-use for physicians. The road was clear and we embarked upon it. Now after obtaining the confirmation of the pre-clinical tests, our products are proving that our idea was right. Today we are convinced that we have the systems of the future in our hands.
