Cathlete is the delivery system for The JenaValve. Three intuitive steps enable cardiac surgeons to precisely position the prosthesis.
By activating step 1, the sheath holding the crimped prosthesis is advanced forward, allowing the feelers to extend. The feelers enable the cardiac surgeon to position the prosthesis in the anatomically correct position.
After the feelers have been placed in the native aortic valve cusps, step 2 is activated on the Cathlete, releasing the base of The JenaValve. The JenaValve is now firmly clipped onto the native aortic valve leaflets.
The step 3 releases The JenaValve from Cathlete. The delivery system can then be removed.
